Covington Sponsors Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area’s 40th Annual Installation Dinner

The Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area (AABA) hosted its 40th Annual Installation Dinner at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco in mid-March.  In honor of AABA’s 40th birthday, outgoing AABA President Eumi Lee, incoming president Hung Chang, and AABA Past President Hoyt Zia each commemorated the efforts, achievements, and growth of AABA over the previous 4 decades.  The evening’s honorees included the Honorable Lillian K. Sing and the Honorable Julie M. Tang, who received the Joe Morozumi Award for Exceptional Legal Advocacy, and Miriam Kim, who was recognized as the inaugural AABA Mentor of the Year.  The evening’s ceremonies concluded with some humor and music by actor and singer-songwriter Katherine Park.

Led by AABA Past President Stanley Young, Covington proudly supported AABA in celebrating its big 4-0.  Joining Stan at the Covington table were Covington attorneys and guests, Clara Shin, Ray Ocampo (former GC, Oracle), Hyun Byun, Daniel Kuo, Neha Jaganathan, and Yale Fu.

In addition to providing scholarships for law school students, the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area advocates for diversity in the legal profession, serves the Asian American and minority communities through legal aid clinics, and advances the interests of diversity through amicus briefs and other advocacy efforts.
