Covington is proud to have hosted the Hispanic Bar Association of D.C.’s (“HBA-DC”) Evening with Kim Rivera on June 21, 2017. Covington partner Sarah Wilson provided opening remarks. Kim Rivera captivated the crowd by speaking about her career path and the particular importance of diversity to HP and the broader legal profession.

Kim Rivera is the General Counsel at HP, Inc., where she has implemented important diversity initiatives including withholding fees from law firms that do not meet HP’s diversity requirements. During her tenure, HP has had the most diverse board of directors of any tech Fortune 50 company in the United States, has received perfect scores on the Disability Equality Index and Corporate Equality Index, and has been recognized as a top employer for African Americans, Hispanics, and women. Prior to her current position, Kim was the Chief Legal Officer at DaVita Health Care Partners and the Chief Compliance Officer at the Clorox Company. Kim grew up in Puerto Rico and Paraguay prior to attending law school in the United States.
