How are you building community with Covington colleagues during this period of "virtual work"? Any tips or learnings to share?
I am fortunate to work with great team members that already work well together! We were also used to working virtually with our outer office counterparts across the firm. We just had to widen the “virtual work space”. We now work to stay further connected by utilizing video calls more often. As a manager, I believe that it’s now important more than ever to check in on our team members not just about work but also their well-being. I strive to do this every day to ensure that the team know that they are appreciated and supported.
How has your experience as a veteran contributed to your career?
My time in the military built the foundation to my leadership principles. I believe that my ability to guide and motivate the team directly impacts the team’s performance.
What advice would you have for your younger self?
You can do anything you set your mind to as long as you’re willing to put in the effort. Don’t limit yourself.
