Nick Xenakis’s Covington arrival was covered in The National Law Journal. The article mentions that Nick hopes to continue working on the same issues in private practice that were his focus in public service. According to Nick, “You see a lot of the same issues that Congress—and the Judiciary Committee in particular—were dealing [with] are also the issues that private clients and companies are facing.” Nick sees a lot of “good-faith effort” on all sides to try to figure out problems such as criminal justice, immigration, antitrust and intellectual property. With his move to the private sector, Nick said he is looking for a new challenge that would build on his experience on the Judiciary Committee.
According to Nick, “I was looking for a place that was multidisciplinary and substantive in its approach to dealing with the issues that I dealt with on the Judiciary Committee. It became apparent to me that not only did Covington have an incredible team, but Covington was where all of these companies—a lot of whom I worked with on Judiciary Committee—brought their most pressing issues.”
“Nick is a Capitol Hill veteran who has been at the forefront of some of the most high-profile and compelling policy debates in recent years around criminal justice reform, immigration reform, national security, privacy, and intellectual property,” McCartin said.
