Capital Markets Activity Plunged To Earth In 2022

According to Brian, "it was an incredibly challenging 12 months to raise capital."

Michael also noted that many companies stockpiled cash when rates were low in 2021, providing a cushion to navigate a downturn. And for companies that need to borrow now, Michael added that rates are not prohibitive when viewed on a long-term basis.

"Rates have gone up, but we're still on the lower end historically," Michael said. "And so as companies need it, or want to take advantage of certain situations, we're still seeing them go to market."
