An In-House Revolution: Early Adopters of AI Reduce 'Rote Tasks,' Spend More Time on Strategy

Yaron Dori’s commentary was included in a Law.com article covering the use of generative AI in legal departments and how many small and large departments are reluctant to embrace it in their work. The article also discusses how early adopters of generative AI say any risks posed by its use is manageable.

Yaron discussed how legal departments approach him for guidance on the practice, saying, “If I could characterize them broadly, they’re approaching AI tools with some caution and asking for advice as to the best way to approach them.” He added, “Typically, we offer a couple of key points that they need to understand: privacy and disclosure concerns, and concerns regarding the reliability of outputs. Because AI models have been built in large part on publicly accessible information, they have a flaw in that they sometimes can hallucinate, so the outputs aren’t always reliable. For these reasons, most people with whom we speak are exercising caution.”
