Ukrainian Energy Company Reports Win Against Russia

Marney Cheek’s commentary was included in a Global Arbitration Review article discussing Covington’s victory on behalf of Ukrainian energy company, DTEK. Marney comments on the ruling, in which the Permanent Court of Arbitration in the Hague awarded $267 million in damages, pre-award interest, and costs.

Marney said the ruling “marks another milestone in holding Russia accountable for its expropriation of Ukrainian investments in Crimea.”
