Boards Expected to Rework Climate Oversight After SEC Rule

David Fredrickson’s commentary was included an Agenda article covering long-awaited climate risk disclosure rules rolled out by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Discussing what companies should be looking out for, David highlighted new climate metrics that audit committee metrics will have to account for.

“It might not have been on audit committees' radar that they had a role in climate-related disclosure, but...this is now in their wheelhouse, and they will have to come up to speed with how to assess those metrics,” David said. He added that “this audit committee oversight is a dramatic change” and specified that the final rule is “a much higher level of generality.”
