Covington’s Robert Wick Named Am Law’s ‘Co-Litigator of the Week’

WASHINGTON, DC, January 31, 2014 — Am Law Litigation Daily named Covington & Burling’s Robert Wick as “Co-Litigator of the Week” for his role in securing dismissal of various antitrust claims, valued at more than $3 billion, brought by Motorola Mobility against Samsung Electronics and several other liquid crystal display manufacturers.

In a ruling issued on January 23, 2014, Judge Joan B. Gottschall of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, applying the Foreign Trade Antitrust Improvements Act, held that that the U.S. antitrust laws do not apply to 99 percent of the antitrust claims at issue. Mr. Wick shared “Co-Litigator of the Week” honors with Kenneth Gallo of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, which represents one of the other defendants.
