LOS ANGELES—The Los Angeles Business Journal has recognized Aaron Lewis as one of the “Most Influential Minority Lawyers” in Los Angeles. The inaugural list names 40 “stellar minority lawyers in the LA region,” highlighting recent success in their respective areas of practice.
The Los Angeles Business Journal highlighted Mr. Lewis’s recent significant representations, including a U.S. Department of Justice investigation of an aerospace and defense client facing alleged violations of the False Claims Act; the representation of a municipal contractor in connection with a fraud investigation and prosecution led by the Los Angeles U.S. Attorney’s Office; and the representation of an apparel manufacturer in connection with a false statements and obstruction of justice investigation.
A member of Covington’s White Collar Defense and Investigations practice, Mr. Lewis represents businesses and individuals in high-profile internal investigations, government enforcement matters, and complex commercial litigation. He previously served as a Counsel to the 82nd Attorney General of the United States, Eric Holder, whom he advised on a range of enforcement issues related to intellectual property protections, national security matters, and civil rights. He later served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Los Angeles, most recently in the National Security Section, where he investigated and prosecuted cases involving computer network intrusions, thefts of trade secrets, and export control violations.
