April 11, 2017
NEW YORK — Covington’s Philip Howard has been appointed to President Donald J. Trump’s “Strategic and Policy Forum” by its chair, Stephen A. Schwarzman, the Chairman, CEO, and Co-Founder of Blackstone.
Composed of CEOs and business leaders, the “Strategic and Policy Forum” is charged with providing their views to the President — informed by their unique vantage points in the private sector — on how government policy impacts economic growth, job creation, and productivity. The forum is designed to provide direct input to the President and includes the heads of leading American businesses like Boeing, Ernst & Young, General Motors, IBM, JPMorgan Chase, PepsiCo, The Walt Disney Company, and Wal-Mart.
In addition to his role at Covington, Mr. Howard serves as chair of Common Good, a nonpartisan coalition to reform government, and is one of America’s leading authorities on government simplification, streamlining regulations and legal reform. He works closely with public officials, corporate executives, academics, and judges across the country and has advised numerous national and statewide elected officials of both parties. His legal practice focuses on advising companies and business leaders on a wide range of issues, including governance, regulatory solutions, litigation and business transactions.
