BEIJING — Global Data Review has named Covington’s Yan Luo to its inaugural “40 Under 40” list, recognizing the 40 individuals who represent the best and the brightest of the data law bar around the world.
Based in the firm’s Beijing office, Ms. Luo advises clients on a broad array of regulatory matters in connection with data privacy, international trade, cybersecurity and antitrust laws in the U.S., EU and China. Ms. Luo previously worked in Washington and practiced in Brussels before relocating to Beijing. She advises international companies on Chinese data privacy and other regulatory matters and represents Chinese companies in regulatory matters in other markets.
In the broad “data law” field, Ms. Luo has advised Chinese clients on GDPR compliance, worked with U.S. companies on data-related transactions, represented clients in relation to evolving data breach notification rules in China, and was part of the expert group advising the Chinese government on its effort to draft national AI standards.
