NEW YORK—The Cyrus R. Vance Center for International Justice has presented Covington with the “Good Governance Program” award at its third annual Celebration of International Pro Bono Excellence.
The Vance Center recognized Covington for its work on behalf of ACOS Alliance, a coalition of news organizations, freelance journalist associations, and NGOs working together to champion safe and responsible journalistic practices for freelance and local journalists worldwide.
Covington assisted the client in creating an insurance program and in restructuring itself as an LLC. The matter was led by Ruben Kraiem and included Susan Leahy, Emma Heffernan, Richard Mattick, Chris Bracebridge, and Pooja Shah Kothari. The Vance Center also recognized Covington’s continued pro bono work internationally and its ongoing participation in other Vance Center projects.
The Vance Center provides pro bono legal representation to dozens of social justice organizations and engages hundreds of law firms in this worldwide work, while promoting diversity in the legal profession.
