WirtschaftsWoche Names Covington Top IT Law Firm in Germany

FRANKFURT—WirtschaftsWoche, Germany’s leading business weekly news magazine, has named Covington as the top law firm for IT law and Dr. Lars Lensdorf, a partner in Covington’s Frankfurt office, to its list of top IT lawyers in Germany.

Dr. Lensdorf focuses his practice on IT law, outsourcing, digitalization and industry 4.0, IT related bank regulatory matters, and data protection. A significant part of Dr. Lensdorf’s practice includes advising on the implementation of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in Europe. He also serves as chairman of the working group “outsourcing” of the DGRI (German Association for Law and Informatics) and member of the working group Information Technology at Deutscher Anwaltverein (German Bar Association).

The WirtschaftsWoche ranking of top IT lawyers in Germany is compiled by a jury that includes in-house lawyers from leading German companies, such as Robert Bosch, ZF Friedrichshafen, RWE, and C.H. Beck. Led by the Handelsblatt Research Institute, the selection process identified 50 IT-lawyers from more than 800 lawyers from across 107 law firms. Earlier this year, WirtschaftsWoche named Covington’s Dr. Jörn Hirschmann a top corporate lawyer and Dr. Dr. Adem Koyuncu a top medical lawyer.
