Catherine Dargan Named a “Most Influential” Woman in M&A

WASHINGTON—Mergers & Acquisitions magazine has named Catherine Dargan as one of 2021’s “Top 25 Most Influential Women in Mid-Market M&A.” This special feature honors “consummate dealmakers who are also champions of change and powerful advocates for diversity, equity and inclusion.” This is the second year in a row that Ms. Dargan was singled out for this honor.
Catherine Dargan leads the firm’s Corporate and Mergers & Acquisitions Practices and has advised numerous companies on their important strategic transactions for more than 20 years. Ms. Dargan has represented clients in public and private mergers and acquisitions, domestically and internationally, related securities, finance and advisory matters, product acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic partnering arrangements. She represents clients in a variety of industries, with particular focus on life sciences and consumer products, and frequently advises clients on their important strategic transactions.
Ms. Dargan’s Mergers & Acquisitions profile highlighted her deal work in the last year related to efforts by clients to combat the Covid-19 pandemic and her role on Covington’s Management Committee crafting the firm’s coronavirus pandemic response and guidance for the firm’s lawyers and staff, including regular outreach to the Covington community. Her efforts included increasing the recruitment of “diverse and women corporate associates, discussing diversity and inclusion efforts in firm-wide Town Halls and reinvigorating the firm’s diversity leadership team, affinity groups and women’s forum and appointed new geographic Diversity & Inclusion leads.”
