Alexa Hansen and Amy Toro Named Daily Journal Top Health Care Lawyers

SAN FRANCISCO—The Daily Journal has named Alexa Hansen and Amy Toro to its 2022 Top Health Care Lawyers list, a recognition of the leading California lawyers who specialize in health care.

Alexa is a partner and patent litigator in Covington’s San Francisco office with an emphasis on pharmaceutical and biological patents. In addition to her litigation work, she also provides patent analysis for product acquisitions and financial transactions. Prior to law school, she worked as a medicinal chemist at Merck & Co. designing small molecule drugs and as a result, is named as an inventor on three patents.

A partner in Covington’s San Francisco office, Amy advises both pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies regarding biologics, pharmaceuticals, and devices, including in the digital health space. She works on all types of life sciences transactions, including major collaborations, licensing arrangements, clinical trial agreements, supply and distribution agreements, product development funding deals, and joint ventures and a variety of commercial agreements. This is her third consecutive year on the list.
