LOS ANGELES/NEW YORK— The Hollywood Reporter has named Mike Hill and Neema Sahni to its Power Lawyers list for 2023. Each year, THR’s editors extensively research the lawyers who are handling the industry’s most significant disputes and negotiating its biggest deals to select the 100 most influential attorneys in Hollywood for the Power Lawyers list.
Based in Covington’s New York office, Mike advises media and technology companies and sports leagues, conferences, and teams in connection with a broad array of commercial and corporate transactions. He has extensive experience with complex television and video licensing and distribution agreements across broadcast, cable and streaming, with a particular focus on sports media rights agreements. The Hollywood Reporter highlighted his work advising the NFL on its multi-year Sunday Ticket rights agreement with Google (YouTube TV and YouTube Primetime Channels) and Major League Soccer on its historic media rights agreement with a multinational technology company.
Neema is a commercial litigator, co-chair of the firm's Music Industry practice and vice-chair of the Sports Industry Group, based in Covington’s Los Angeles office. Through her work at the firm, and her prior experience in-house, she has developed a sophisticated understanding of the legal issues facing clients in the media and entertainment industries. The Hollywood Reporter highlighted her work securing settlements for all the major record labels and music publishers in copyright infringement cases against ISPs, the dismissal of a franchise fee lawsuit against Paramount Global, and the dismissal of a relocation lawsuit against the NFL.
