State Bar of California Selects Covington as a DEI Leadership Gold Seal Recipient

LOS ANGELES/PALO ALTO/SAN FRANCISCO—Covington has been selected by the State Bar of California as a Gold Seal recipient, its highest honor, in the inaugural group of the DEI Leadership Seal Program. The program recognizes legal employers who have taken steps to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in their organizations.

A core component of the State Bar’s mission is to promote DEI in the legal system and legal profession. Having a diverse legal profession positively affects the administration of justice, ensures fairness, and promotes the rule of law. As part of its 2022 Diversity Report Card, the State Bar published Calls to Action that legal employers and attorneys can implement to support DEI in the workplace. Covington belongs to a subset of firms that implemented at least nine of the State Bar’s 10 identified Action Items.
