NEW YORK—Covington continued the growth of its Securities & Capital Markets Practice by announcing the hiring of prominent capital markets deal lawyer Michael D. Maline.
Michael, who will reside in Covington’s New York office, has decades of experience representing global investment banks, issuers, and investors in public and private capital markets transactions, with an emphasis on those in the life sciences sector. He regularly advises clients in initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, private placements of equity and debt securities, and other transactions — also focusing on cross-border offerings for foreign issuers selling securities into the United States as well as offerings for U.S. companies.
"Covington is excited to welcome Michael to our growing capital markets team. Michael is a trusted legal advisor who is highly respected in the capital markets community and will be an integral part of our diversified Securities & Capital Markets Practice," said Brian K. Rosenzweig, chair of the firm’s Securities and Capital Markets Practice Group.
Michael said, “Covington’s brand recognition, sophistication, and world class life sciences regulatory and licensing capabilities are second to none, and I am looking forward to being part of such a robust global firm and collaborating with my new colleagues to help continue to grow its already exceptional platform.”
