November 30, 2023
WASHINGTON—Covington received a score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2023-2024 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. This is the 15th consecutive year Covington has received this recognition.
"Being recognized for the 15th year in a row by the Human Rights Campaign is a testament to Covington's commitment to fostering inclusion and empowering colleagues to thrive," said Doug Gibson, Covington’s chair. “We recognize the importance of creating an effective DEI strategy to support our workforce and strive to be a model for organizations inside and outside the legal industry.”
Covington’s 100-percent rating is a result of various firm policies and practices including non-discrimination policies, equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families, supporting an inclusive culture, and corporate social responsibility.
The Human Rights Campaign is the educational arm of America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for LGBTQ+ people. For more information on the 2023 Corporate Equality Index, or to download a free copy of the report, click here.
