LOS ANGELES/NEW YORK— Variety has named
Michael Hill and
Robyn Polashuk to its 2023 Dealmakers Impact Report, recognizing the top dealmakers in the entertainment business.
Based in Covington’s New York office, Michael advises media and technology companies and sports leagues, conferences, and teams in connection with a broad array of commercial and corporate transactions. He has extensive experience with complex television and video licensing and distribution agreements across broadcast, cable and streaming, with a particular focus on sports media rights agreements.
Variety highlighted his work advising the NFL on its multi-year Sunday Ticket rights agreement with Google (YouTube TV and YouTube Primetime Channels), the Phoenix Suns and Mercury on their media rights agreements, and the L.A. Clippers on their launch of ClipperVision.
Robyn is co-chair of the firm’s Entertainment and Media Industry Group, based in Covington’s Los Angeles office. She provides transactional and strategic advice on network and video programming distribution to leading studio, television and other media and technology companies around the world. Her work sits at the intersection of traditional and digital media, and focuses on the evolution of video consumption and how programming companies get their content to customers.
Variety noted her role advising “Disney on its landmark carriage deal with Charter Spectrum that included the Disney Channel, ESPN and ABC O&Os.”
