LOS ANGELES/PALO ALTO— The Daily Journal has named Brian Bieluch and Kurt Calia to its 2025 Top Intellectual Property Lawyers list, a recognition of the leading California lawyers who specialize in intellectual property law.
Based in Covington’s Los Angeles office, Brian is a partner and serves as vice-chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation group. Brian focuses on complex, multi-forum patent and technology litigation, representing companies in disputes with competitors in the U.S. International Trade Commission, district courts, and the Federal Circuit. Brian further has significant experience in serving as coordinating counsel for international IP disputes and regularly works with Covington teams in China and South Korea on complex IP matters.
Kurt is a partner in Covington’s Palo Alto office who tries complex intellectual property and other civil litigation matters in courts and tribunals throughout the country, and counsels clients in intellectual property matters. His practice encompasses the firm's life sciences and technology clients, ranging from pharmaceutical chemistry, biotechnology, and biomedical devices, to aerospace and defense, mechanical devices, business methods/software, and semiconductors. This is Kurt’s sixth consecutive year receiving the honor.
