WASHINGTON—Covington has once again been named among the top five of Lexology’s GDR Global Elite, with the firm earning the top spot in both the data protection advisory and non-personal data advisory categories. The firm was also recognized for its investigations and litigation work.
The Global Elite rankings are a part of the GDR 100, a global ranking that recognizes law firms’ privacy and data protection capabilities, as well as all other types of data law. To ascend to the Global Elite list, which comprises 25 firms, a firm must have an international presence and demonstrate that it is doing market-leading work.
The editorial team noted that Covington “is one of few Elite firms with a strong presence in the Middle East and Africa through its presence in the UAE and South Africa.” It also highlighted that the “firm’s practice is arguably equally as strong in the US as it is in Europe…a truly rare feat that few others can boast.”
“We thank our clients for trusting us to lead them through their most significant and cutting edge matters,” the firm’s Data Privacy and Cybersecurity co-heads Daniel Cooper, David Fagan, and Lindsey Tonsager said. “And we appreciate this recognition given that companies operating in highly-regulated spaces require counsel from law firms with strong international reach and capabilities.”
The new rankings are available as part of the GDR 100 2024.
