WASHINGTON—Covington advised Oasis Systems, LLC in its acquisition by ERC, LLC, a portfolio company of private equity firm Brightstar Capital Partners. The combined companies, ERC-Oasis, will expand and scale advanced engineering, cybersecurity and technology-focused consulting solutions for the global aerospace and defense communities. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2022.
Together, ERC-Oasis will provide services to such clients as the U.S. Department of Defense, the Federal Aviation Administration, NASA and other high-tech governmental entities on missions of national importance. Brightstar Capital Partners is a middle market private equity firm focused on investing closely held family, founder or entrepreneur-owned businesses.
Covington advised Oasis Systems on government contracts, national security, and trade controls aspects of the transaction. The team was led by partner Scott Freling and included Tyler Evans and Paul Rowley (government contracts), Heather Finstuen and B.J. Altvater (national security), and Justin Schenck (trade controls).
