Arlo regularly advises global financial institutions and Fortune 100 companies facing complex, high-stakes investigations by the Department of Justice, federal regulators, and State Attorneys General. His matters span allegations of financial fraud, money laundering, trade controls violations, corruption, and False Claims Act violations. He also advises emerging technology companies, particularly in the cryptocurrency and artificial intelligence sectors, as they navigate novel and aggressive government enforcement actions.
In addition to corporate clients, Arlo specializes in representing individuals—including high-profile public figures—in criminal investigations that carry significant personal, professional, and reputational risks. He provides strategic counsel that integrates legal, business, and public relations considerations to effectively manage and resolve these extraordinary challenges.
Prior to joining the firm, Arlo served in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York as one of its leading securities fraud prosecutors and then as Chief of its Public Corruption Unit. As Chief, Arlo supervised more than 20 prosecutors, criminal investigators and other professionals responsible for investigating and prosecuting a wide range of domestic and foreign corruption offenses and cases involving fraud against the government. In the Securities Fraud Unit, he investigated and prosecuted some of the most notable financial services-related cases in involving insider trading, Bank Secrecy Act violations and money laundering. He also spearheaded the Department of Justice’s principal enforcement action against offshore internet gambling companies illegally operating in the United States.
