Covington Advises the Family of Bing Crosby in Partnership with Primary Wave Music

NEW YORK—Covington is advising HLC Properties Ltd, which owns the music catalogue and movie interest of the singer and actor Bing Crosby, in its recently announced partnership with Primary Wave Music. HLC Properties owned by the Crosby family.
Under terms of the partnership, Primary Wave acquired a stake in the assets owned by HLC Properties, which includes the Bing Crosby Archives featuring thousands of recordings by Crosby and other artists, many of which have never been released. Terms of the deal also include artist royalties from master recordings featuring Crosby’s performances, writer royalties from songs written by Crosby, his rights in the film White Christmas, as well as other film, radio, and television productions. Primary Wave also acquired a stake in his name, likeness, and rights of publicity.
Born in 1903, Crosby is one of the most influential and popular recording artists and film stars with more than 70 feature films and 1600 recorded songs. Because of his influence in motion pictures, music, and on radio, he is one of only 33 people to have three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
