Latinvex Names Four Covington Partners Among “Latin America’s Top 100 Lawyers” for 2022

NEW YORK—Latinvex has named Covington lawyers Nicole Duclos, Miguel López Forastier, Gabriel Mesa, and Sergio Urias among its list of Latin America’s Top 100 Lawyers. The 10th annual ranking is a selection of the leading lawyers from international law firms that are involved in the legal business in Latin America. Covington is one of the top five firms in the number of ranked lawyers appearing on the list.
Nicole represents clients in international commercial and investment arbitration, as well as in litigation in aid of arbitration. Her experience spans construction, energy, mining, agroindustry, and M&A. Nicole also sits regularly as arbitrator.
Miguel’s practice focuses on international arbitration and litigation. Miguel has successfully represented a wide range of clients, including those in the technology, oil and gas, mining, communications, financial services, and food industries in both investor-State and commercial arbitrations.
Gabriel is co-head of the firm’s Latin America Corporate Practice Group. He advises companies on corporate transactions, including joint ventures, private mergers and acquisitions, financings and restructurings in Latin America and other emerging markets as well as in the United States.
Sergio is co-chair of the firm's Private Equity Practice Group and head of the Latin America Practice. Sergio represents leading private equity funds and their portfolio companies in a wide range of corporate transactions, including domestic and cross-border (primarily in Latin America) mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, leveraged financings, restructurings, reorganizations, growth equity investments, and other corporate transactional matters.
